In the six years since Bethea became a vice president of Marketing & Sales Operations at LanguageLine Solutions, the Monterey, California–based language interpretation leader has evolved at whiplash speeds equal to those of some flash-in-the-pan Silicon Valley start-ups that command more ink. In 2017, it launched the game-changing mobile app InSight, a video-and-audio solution that made connecting with professional linguists and interpreters easier than ever for the millions of clients in law enforcement, health care and law who rely on it to tap into more than 200 languages during emergencies. And earlier this year, LanguageLine’s parent company, the French call-center operator Teleperformance, reported revenue of $5.15 billion in 2017, a 9 percent increase from the year previous. But for Bethea, as technology advances, his job as a marketing and sales professional just becomes easier. “I find that the quality and value represented by this company essentially sells itself,” Bethea wrote in a bio on LinkedIn. “So marketing it to new people and organizations is a privilege and joy.”
