Jim Welsh

Senior Vice President, General Manager
Client Solutions at Western Digital / SanDisk

With new products like iXpand Base, which makes it easy to back up iPhone photos, videos and contacts with an intuitive nightly backup setup, Western Digital is constantly reinventing itself, and Welsh has been at the forefront of the San Jose, California–based data-technology behemoth’s constant evolution. An executive with Western Digital since 2005, the Brown University Bachelor of Arts has capitalized on the company’s 2016 acquisition of SanDisk by leaning forward into a new generation of data-storage technology, including what’s being billed as the world’s fastest UHS-I flash memory card, the SanDisk Extreme, which debuted in February. “Consumers expect an increasingly better mobile experience, and with our 3-D NAND technology, we are pushing the boundaries of innovation to enable them to create and enjoy more rich content on their devices,” Welsh said following its release. “Our expertise in flash memory and microSD card electronics enables us to achieve unmatched performance.”
