Vice President of Worldwide Sales
Pure Storage Inc.
To hear it from Pure Storage Chief Executive Charlie Giancarlo, data storage is one of the three legs of a computing stool, along with processors and networking — if one falls, the entire system collapses. A far cry from the “boring and traditional” business many innovators have come to see it as, the storage sector has the innovation to spare, according to data storage executives, including Giancarlo and Delane. As vice president of Worldwide Sales, Delane, a former Dell EMC executive, has been responsible since 2017 for the all-flash storage firm’s go-to-market strategy and for overseeing international expansion and growth. In August, under Delane’s leadership, the Mountain View, California–based company unveiled FlashBlade, its advanced storage product for unstructured data that consolidates complex data silos. If you think that’s “boring,” then maybe you’re in last place.
