EVP, Global Business Sales,

There are few names as highly regarded in market research as Gartner, and it’s McVeigh’s job to make sure it stays that way. A part of the firm since 2014, ascending from the role of executive vice president of new market programs to executive vice president of all global business sales in early 2019, he’s now responsible for Gartner’s subscription-based services, which entail $600 million in annual global revenue. At his previous employer, the financial services firm Hellman & Friedman, he oversaw about $25 billion in assets under management as managing director, so he is clearly comfortable with handling sizeable businesses. He also spent time at McKinsey & Company and The Blackstone Group, among others, giving him a substantial pedigree and professional network from which to draw upon for his continued success. In addition to being excellent at recruiting, developing, motivating, and retaining high performance teams, he says he offers the perspective of a “prior board director who understands board dynamics and expectations.”
