President & GM North America, Data Center Group
As the North America president and general manager of the data center group at electronics giant Lenovo since February 2019, Hooper sits right at the intersection of technology and business. He’s in a vital role as Lenovo seeks to unify and further grow demand for its two major divisions: hardware and services. But Hooper’s got the experience and talent to go far, having worked at rival tech firms IBM (for nearly a decade), and HP (for five years), among other companies. At IBM in particular, he tripled quarter-over-quarter revenue in a single quarter. He’s been called a “visionary leader” and “dynamic, inspiring, and supportive” by former colleagues. According to Hooper, he will deploy a three-tiered approach in his role at Lenovo to further grow its data center services business: “Be curious, have an opinion, and work with someone different.” His overarching goal is to help Lenovo “sell a portfolio that solves real problems” for its customers in enterprise.
