Global VP, Data and Artificial Intelligence
A leader at one of the most influential payment providers in the world, Hammitt oversees the division that focuses on timely, widely-sought technologies — a piece of the business that’s critical to the company’s overall success. She joined Visa in 2017 as its global vice president of data and artificial intelligence after previous roles at other household-name tech firms, including IBM, Salesforce, and Hewlett-Packard. While handling data and AI at Visa, Hammitt offers her talents to a vast array of notable initiatives, including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), where she is an executive committee member of ethics, AI, and intelligent automation; and facial recognition platform Beseeq, of which she is chair. She writes frequently about businesses welcoming people who have been out of the workforce (particularly women) with open arms. “Because I am a data person, I am confident returners in my organizations consistently hit it out of the ballpark — even when they are not specifically trained to use the latest technology,” she has written.
