Global President Electronic Components

As a veteran of this nearly century-old electronics-parts giant — he’s logged more than 30 years with Avnet — Gallagher is an experienced leader who has risen the ranks, now filling one of the firm’s most prestigious and important roles: overseeing distribution, supplier relationships, global procurement, and supply chain solutions. He left Avnet in 2015 to work at rival firm TTI for a year, but returned to take up his current position, at which point he noted that, “The business strategy and direction that have been laid out by the leadership team is going to change the trajectory of the company, and I am eager to be a part of it.” Gallagher is now in charge of four regional presidents at Avnet and leads the company’s subsidiary brands, including Farnell (a UK-based electronic components distributor acquired in 2016) and Farnell’s division Newark element14, which is one of the only distributors of the influential Raspberry Pi microcomputer. In 2009, he won the prestigious Gail S. Carter Award from the trade group the Electronic Components Industry Association, where he also previously served as president.
