Ihssane Mounir

Vice President, Commercial Sales and Marketing at The Boeing Company

Mounir arrived in the U.S. from his native Morocco at age 17, fluent in Arabic, French, and Spanish, but unable to speak English. He did, however, have a conditional acceptance from Wichita State University to study aerospace engineering. Ever since, he’s left a large footprint in the aerospace field, from his research in experimental and applied aerodynamics to his two-decade tenure at aerospace giant Boeing. Mounir’s research has earned him several awards from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. In his current role, he’s in charge of all sales and marketing of commercial airplanes to airlines and leasing customers globally. Previously, he oversaw sales and market development for Northeast Asia, the company’s largest and fastest growing market. When not at work, he serves on the national advisory board of Wichita State University and the board of directors of FIRST Washington, an organization that aims to help young people from diverse backgrounds involved with STEM fields.
