John Phillips

Vice President of Sales at SYNNEX Corporation


In 1996, Phillips was hired as one of Synnex’s first employees. Over the past two decades, he has worked his way up from his original role as a Junior Sales Rep in channel sales to Vice President of Sales. Today, Phillips focuses on developing sales and marketing strategy, value proposition, and forecasting. He specializes in small- to medium-sized businesses. In eight years, he has grown sales in this customer segment from $30 million to $452 million. His goal at work is to make everyone’s job easier, except their competition. “My sales team knows me as a problem-solving asset. My fellow channel executives would tell you that I’m probably going to outwork them,” he said. “And, my customers know me as a friend and an advocate.” In his spare time, Phillips is involved with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, for which he has raised thousands of dollars.
